Pretty Serious Serious Business Collection and Pantone Duo

Hello! Today I have a fun collection that I think any NPA (nail polish addict) can appreciate. The Pretty Serious Serious Business Collection is made up of six shades and each is named after lingo we obsessed polish people use in our daily lives. For those not quite so deep in the polish world, I have a brief explanation for each name. You know I love a good name, but the shades don't disappoint either! There are quite a few unique colors that I know you'll be wanting to get your hands on.

Formula and Application:
Pretty Serious Cosmetics is vegan, cruelty free, and 3 Free (meaning no Dibutyl Phtalate, Formaldehyde or Toluene). There are so many different formulas in this collection that I'll just be describing each one individually.

Bottle and Brush:
The bottles contain 11ml/0.37fl oz. The brushes are medium length and skinny.

Serious Business

Epic Haul (a big purchase of nail polish, totally relative of course) is a green creme/jelly with a strong blue and pink shimmer. I was so surprised by how much I liked this one, the shimmer makes it so pretty and unique! I had great coverage on the first coat, and used two coats. It dried with a shiny finish, and this is shown without top coat.

HTF (Hard To Find, a rare nail polish) was another really unique shade that I am totally digging! It's a blackened brown jelly filled with flakies that shift red/orange/green. The shift in the flakies isn't super strong on the nail, especially in my indoor lighting. I did get a good shot of it outside in the shade. It applied really sheer on the first coat, but built up nicely in three thin coats. It dried to a shiny finish, and this is shown without top coat.

No Buy (the promise to not purchase nail polish for a certain amount of time, if you have the willpower) is a deep, rich red with red and gold shimmer. This shade makes me think of the gorgeous shimmery polishes that really got me into nail polish years ago. This was another great formula and was opaque in two coats. It dried shiny, shown with no top coat.

Dupe (a duplication of another polish) is a blackened blue jelly packed with small purple, blue, green, and yellow glitters and shimmer. I had to be more careful with my application as it was pretty thick. This is two thick coats with, a thick layer of top coat to even out the surface.

Free Sample (as in a press sample) is a pale whitish pink creme/jelly with subtle yet gorgeous blue, gold, and pink shimmer. This had a thicker formula while still being a little sheer. So even with my three coats it wasn't 100% opaque. Shown with top coat.

Destash (selling or giving away part/all of your nail polish collection) is a rich reddish fuchsia creme/jelly with a strong blue shimmer. Another beautiful shimmery shade with a great formula! This was two coats, shown without top coat.

These last two shades are separate from the Serious Business Collection, but since there are only two, I'm including them here. This duo is inspired by the 2016 Pantone Colors (this year there are two!) of the Year.

Pantone Duo

Use The Quartz, Lonestar! is a milky, almost white pink creme. I am always looking for pinks like this and I feel like I finally have the perfect one! For such a pale shade the application was really nice and smooth. This was three thin coats, no top coat.

Can't Take The Sky is a soft baby blue creme. This had another great formula and was opaque in two coats. Shown without topcoat.

Each polish retails for $7.59 USD/$9.95 AUD through their website, or they can also be purchased through one of their international stockist.

Pretty Serious

So many pretty colors it's hard to pick a favorite! If you're a creme lover like me, I suggest the Pantone Duo. HTF was my favorite of the collection because it looks like nothing else I have! Which is your favorite? Let me know in the comments!
